Kinkaid Lake State Fish & Wildlife Area

Kinkaid Lake is considered one of the most scenic lakes in Illinois. At 2,750 acres, it is also one of the larger lakes in southern Illinois. Ownership of the land surrounding the lake is divided between the U.S. Forest Service and the Illinois Department of Natural Resources. Four boat ramps and a full-service marina provide access to the lake. Anglers will enjoy great fishing for crappie, muskellunge, largemouth bass, channel cat, and walleye among others. Hunting opportunities for deer, turkey, waterfowl, and more are also available.
