Henderson County Conservation Area

Henderson County Conservation Area includes the 27-acre Gladstone Lake. Purchased from the C.B. & Q. Railroad, the area was once used as a source of sand and gravel for railroad maintenance and a source of water for filling trains’ steam engines. Tent and trailer camping is allowed. A boat ramp on the east side of the lake offers access to the lake, and anglers will find bluegill, sunfish, crappie, channel catfish, bullhead, carp, and sauger. Ice skating and ice fishing are permitted on the lake when the ice is thick enough.
