Fort Edwards Memorial

Fort Edwards Drive, Warsaw IL 62379
See Quincy

Fort Edwards was a log fort built in 1816-1817 to protect the movement of supplies on the Mississippi River. It later served as a fur trading post. A monument honoring Fort Edwards was held in 1914, incorrectly believed to be the 100-year anniversary of the fort’s construction. The point offers sweeping views of the Mississippi River and three state: Illinois, Iowa, and Missouri.
