Located within Kaskaskia River State Fish and Wildlife area, Baldwin Lake is a 2,018-acre cooling lake. Waterfowl viewing, boating and primitive camping are available. Fishing, either from boat or bank, is good year round with the warm waters offering a longer growing season than surrounding lakes. Commonly caught species include largemouth bass, hybrid striped bass, various species of catfish, and crappie.
